My parents live in SLO and I grew up 30 mins south in Santa Maria. Absolutely fatntsaic city. I’ve trained at Paragon SLO and blogged about it. Awesome experience and nice, clean facility. Chris Lavato is a gem. Super nice and made plenty of time to roll with a big sloth white belt newbie who dropped in just because. Two thumbs up. Ladies, make it happen!

Michelle MNovember 15, 2012 My boyfriend does BJJ and he wears a ruaghsard so he doesnt pick up any ring worm you never know! Most places clean their mats often and the athletes are clean and shower but in any kind of mat sport environment a case will pop up occasionally, and it’s a pain to get rid of! You’re talking cream, covering it, sometimes you even need to get a few rounds of pricey prescription cream if it’s a stubborn case, so I def would recommend wearing a rashguard and wash it every time. I do judo and some of the guys in the dojo wear a shirt or rashguard under the gi, its kind of a personal preference I guess. They are not required to, but some of them like it cause they get sweaty and the t-shirt helps sop up the sweat and a rashguard helps to prevent friction burns from the gi.
