MMA Fashion January 7, 2019 20:58

MMA fashion has been a grey area as most of the brands produce products that are standard for mma workout rituals. 1ON1 Clothing decided to take a different route in this industry.

MMA Fighters are fit athletes that have a swag outside of their work out lifestyle, so why provide them with only workout attire and not make sure we cater to their swag out on their streets? Now we dropped some rashguards in the past and we will be bringing new ones in 2019; however, our focus is on the outfits outside of the gym. Men and Women fighters have a nice physic and are up to date with the fashion trends and our focus is not just to be one of those mma t shirt brands that will bring you a t shirt and a rashguard.

We have a collection of t shirts, long sleeve shirts, hoodies, joggers, windbreakers, hats, snapbacks, leggings and tanktops. soon enough the variety of women streetwear collection will expand and is the men collection.

We are working closely with some of the top Los Angeles fashion designers that know whats in now and we want to make sure we are up to date with the fashion trend in this market.

Stay tuned and thank you for reading this fashion blog

5 Steps To Start Your Own Clothing Brand January 4, 2019 17:43

Hello Everyone,

This is Sal Younis, the creator and current CEO of 1ON1 Clothing. I know a lot of you wonder, how can I start my own brand? Are there any steps that I can follow to get started? Where do I start?

Trust me I know how that feels. I had to learn all this on my own and it took me too long to figure things out.

I am going to give you guys some steps on how to get started and where to get started. This blog will show you the structure of the process but of course there are way more details after the structure that I am willing to share with you directly. You can leave a comment below or you can contact me directly on my personal Instagram account and I will be more than happy to help you thru the process.

My personal Instagram account : @younis_s

So let's get started:

Step One: Pick a brand name and a brand culture.

Every brand has a name and a culture, 1ON1 is a brand that started in the MMA culture, Diamond Supply is a brand that started in the skaters culture and RVCA is a brand that started in the surfers culture and the list goes on ... You got this right?

Step Two: Trademark the brand name and get your legal paperwork done.

After you decide the brand name and culture, you have to get your brand trademarked so you have ownership of it.

When you get the name trademarked, you will have to go get the required licenses to be in business.

One last thing, you will need to purchase the domain name for your business. You can do that with GoDaddy.

( If you want to learn how to trademark a brand and which licenses you need, you can reach out to me and I will give you all the details ).

Step Three: Plan out the products collection you would like to produce and reach out to the sources that will make them for you.

You will have to make a game plan on what would you like to make. For example: tshirts, hoodies, hats. Or even, Is it going to be a women clothing, mens clothing or maybe both.

All these details will help better search from the sources and manufactures that will help you make these products for you.

( After you decide your collection, You can reach out to me and I can help you with getting all the sources/manufactures needed for whatever products you need with the highest qualities )

Step Four: Build a Website and social media channels.

Once you are done with the first 3 steps then you are READY to hit the market. Your first approach must be utilizing the social media sources to build the brand awareness which will eventually will start referring to unique website.

( If you need any help with building a website or you need recommendations on which platform to use, you can reach out to me directly and I will be happy to help you )

Step Five: Invest in Marketing and Brand Awareness

Once you have reached step 5 then you are ready to start doing business. with that being said, you need to know that MARKETING is the name of the game. There are a lot of ways to market your brand and website; couple of standard ways will be:

SEO, Bloggers, Social media shares, Tradeshows, Sponsorship deals and the list goes on .....

( If you need help in your marketing plan for your brand, reach out to me and I will be happy to help you ).

Now the top 5 steps are the basics of starting your own brand. Building a well known brand takes way more than the basics, and for that we will have to wait for our 1ON1 conversations. Building a well known brand will need a detailed business plan.

if you have any questions please feel free to leave a comment below and I will make sure to answer it and maybe touch up on it on my next blog.

Thank You,

Sal Younis

MMA Brands Gain Publicity From Fighters January 4, 2019 16:37

Every streetwear brand starts around a culture. some start as a skater brand, some as a surfer brand and some just revolve around a pitch or an industry theme.

1ON1 clothing is a streetwear brand that started in the MMA world. MMA is believed to date back to the ancient Olympics of 632 BCE. Back to the martial training of the Greek armies.

Now, MMA has gained it's big screen recognition in the past 25 years which was the beginning of the UFC era. And now the sport is global and watched by fighters and non-fighters.

Every brand has caught some attention from the active fighters that got to represent the brand. For example, In the past,  Affliction clothing had their affliction tee shirts represented by the hall of fame Randy Cotoure. Also, Bad Boy fight gear had the number 2 middle weight contender Alexander Gustafsson display their brand to the public in multiple events. Finally, 1ON1 clothing had their gear represented by champion Cris Cyborg and Pedro Munhoz and the list goes on ...

These famous athletes give a strong recognition to the brands as they are public figures. These public figures have a major fan base that will pay attention to what they do, eat and wear. All of that is to the benefit of the brands that work with the fighters.

In every streetwear culture, the brands capitalize on any love they can get from celebrities. wether it's a sponsorship deal or just a good event that the celebrity chooses to wear this brand. It's just one of the ways this brand will gain the publics trust and grow.

Streetwear Brands In California December 31, 2018 16:19

Fashion clothing is an industry that started shaping in the 1600's and it became an industry around the 1800's with the leadership of Charles Worth.

The growth in streetwear in specific has become a highly competitive category as there are plenty of brands from all around the world today.

In this blog I will share with you couple of the brands that you probably know today that actually started in California and have seen some success so far.

RVCA or "RUVA". RVCA is a surfers brand based out of Costa Mesa, CA. It was created as a surfers' streetwear brand in 1999 by Pat Tenore and Conan Hayes. Then it was bought by Billabong International Limited in 2010. It grew since then to become a reliable streetwear brand today.

Diamond Supply Clothing, Diamond Supply is a skater streetwear brand that was created by Nicholas Tershay in 1996 in San Fransisco, CA. The brand then moved to Los Angeles and it has received much success thru the years in the streetwear industry.

1ON1 Clothing, 1ON1 Clothing is an mma streetwear brand that was created in 2011 by Sal Younis in Los Angeles, CA. The brand is probably one of the youngest brands in California that has accomplished much success is such short time.

These local streetwear brands represent the whole variety of the clothing collection. T-shirts, hoodies, hats, snapbacks, joggers, shorts. Also, each brand specializes in some special products to cater to their fan base and followers in the industry.

Fashion History December 27, 2018 10:42

The fashion industry has been around since the 16th century; However, the first fashion designer that made his own fashion pieces and had his name attached to a fashion garment was the English fashion designer Charles Frederick Worth.

Worth was the founded of House of Worth. He is considered by many fashion historians to be the father of Haute Couture and also he is credited with the revolution of the business of fashion.

In 1858, Worth established his fashion salon in Paris that attracted a lot royalty. In the 19th century,, innovative designers started making dresses that suit the everyday lifestyle of that time.

In 19th century, fashion magazines started taking part in displaying fashion pieces in help to put our the latest trends of that time.

And Now, we see how the world of fashion has grown thru globalization and social media. every country, city and community has a fashion style and evolves on a daily bases.

This industry came from a simple concept to becoming a world economy drivers on a global scale and we are happy to be part of the fashion industry. Mens fashions, womens fashion and soon we will touch into kids fashion as we know we have a huge responsibility to cater to the main concept of this industry which is providing some fashionable garments to serve the daily routines.

Quality Over Quantity  December 24, 2018 18:53

The fashion industry is a huge industry. With the competition being real high we needed to take some specific actions to stand out. Besides the variety of designs and products, we focused on quality and authenticity.

Quality, the worse thing a shopper can face is buying something they love that doesn’t last for a long time. I personally shopped with big brand names ( i wouldn’t mention the names here ) and paid top dollars then they shrink by a size or two after the first wash. That was disappointing. Every brand has to stand behind their quality and that’s something we do.

We produce top quality because of two reason. First, we use top quality fabrics. They cost us a little more than the standard fabrics but it makes it worth it for our shoppers. Secondly, all our products are made of pre-shrunk fabrics. So the fabrics are pre-washed before they are cut and sewed and that brings the shrinkage down to a minimal after purchase. These two reason were the main backbone of returned customers to our brand and we are proud of such decisions as we see how it paid off.

Authenticity, anyone can make a shirt and place on it some fashion designer printing. That doesn’t show much effort put in each piece, also it facilitates the process for people to be able to clone these products.

Beside the efforts we put in the quality, we make sure to add some little touches to every piece to make sure our shoppers are getting the real deal. Most of our products will notice at least one to two custom made woven labels in every piece we make. The main woven label is always placed at the bottom of every shirt and recently we added a custom made official 1ON1 woven label to the back of the shirt. These labels add value to the products, increases authenticity and blocks the clones from approaching a high valued product.

A lot of up and coming brands take short cuts in these little extra efforts and will run into a wall as soon as they enter the market. Our advise from one brand to another, take the extra steps and give your customers a valued product. Your loyal fans will appreciate it and it will pay off on the long run.

How To Stay Dry This Winter? December 20, 2018 20:53

Not everyone knows how to deal with the winter season. Some people are used to it as they  probably grew up in a place that winter is the norm. On the other hand, there are some people who are just not used to it, such as people who live in Los Angeles.

Now one thing we can show you is how to stay dry in a rainy day!!

Windbreakers are the answer. Our Windbreakers are made of some fabrics that water doesn't go thru which is good to keep your outfit fresh even when you travel from one place to another.

The secret to our windbreakers that makes it stand out from the other windbreakers in the market, is the coverage. Our windbreakers have a high neck that zips up all the way to the nose. with the pull over part of this product, you will pretty much cover your whole head and neck area.

Also, there are zip up pockets that your can hide your phone and belongings in that will keep them dry. The last thing anyone will need is to get their phone water damaged!!

Finally, the bottom of the windbreaker has a string that will tighten the bottom of this jacket and block anything that will enter from the bottom, wether it's some splashing water from the streets or even the simple wind that might take the warm feeling away.

In other word, stay warm and dry my friends by owning the 1ON1 custom made windbreaker which is available at:

Long Sleeve Shirts December 19, 2018 23:13

Making clothing products can be tricky, You have to make pieces that look good and serve a purpose.

As you all know, we are a Los Angeles based brand. And living in LA, we dont have a real cold winter. Like today we were walking around under 68 degrees weather in the middle of December!!

How does it effect our production? I will tell you how. Basically our winter hoodies will sell all around the United States and globally more than selling locally in Los Angeles, so we make sure we cater to both; Outside of LA and In LA.

Our mens fashion new long sleeve shirts were released 3 days ago and we are already sold out on couple of sizes. All sales were locally. Not surprised. As we ll know it serves the 68 degrees weather for all our local people.

The new long sleeve shirts were released in Black and White in 100% Cotton. It's a simple look with all the official 1ON1 logos on it chest, lower front and the lower back.

For our local clients, don't worry we will re-stock the sold out sizes next Monday and for our nationwide and global clients. it's a great piece to wear under a jacket. it's light on the body with a smooth body fit. You will feel good and look good. Check out the pics below.
